Turning for Profit is Celebrating

I’m close to 300 fans on Facebook and my best friend at Joybilee Farm just made it to 5K fans on Facebook, too.  To celebrate we planned a blog draw.  In considering what would be suitable for all of our fans, I thought that the newest Kindle would be an excellent choice.  Having your own Kindle will let you grab the free Kindle books, being listed every day by Joybilee Farm.  While you are waiting to see if you win this awesome prize, download the free Kindle app from Amazon and start your own Kindle library by checking out the daily Joybilee Farm posts.  And be sure to share the daily post with your friends on Facebook to increase your chance to win this great prize.

So Why did we decide on to buy one of our fans a Kindle?

We decided on the Kindle Paperwhite because frankly, I think its the brightest, and easiest to read Kindle that Amazon has come up with.  In taking your hobby to the next level you need resources that will improve the business / computer side of your hobby. too.  There are many free resources for the kindle that are just what you need to organize your business, set up your Facebook page or help you create a presence on the internet.  This Kindle is easy to read and still has the great portability to keep you engaged even when you can’t get to your lathe.

The new Kindle Paperwhite has a bright white screen with dark print, giving the strongest print contrast of any Kindle.  It has a special light that allows you to read easily in bright sunlight, and in the dark, no reading light required.  It will hold up to 1,100 Kindle books.  Plus it has a built in wifi so that you can download books on the go.  Do you want one yet?

Here’s the Specs:

Display Amazon’s 6″ Paperwhite display with patented built-in light, 212 ppi, optimized font technology, 16-level gray scale
Size 6.7″ x 4.6″ x 0.36″ (169 mm x 117 mm x 9.1 mm)
Weight 7.5 ounces (213 grams)
System Requirements None; fully wireless and doesn’t require a computer to download content
On-Device Storage 2 GB internal (approximately 1.25 GB available for user content). Holds up to 1,100 books
Cloud Storage Free cloud storage for all Amazon content
Battery Life A single charge lasts up to eight weeks, based on a half hour of reading per day with wireless off and the light setting at 10. Battery life will vary based on light and wireless usage
Charge Time Fully charges in approximately 4 hours from a computer via USB cable
Wi-Fi Connectivity Supports public and private Wi-Fi networks or hotspots that use the 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n standard with support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 security using password authentication or Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
Content Formats Supported Kindle Format 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion
Documentation Quick Start Guide (included in box) [PDF]; Kindle Paperwhite User Guide (pre-installed on device) [PDF]. Additional information in multiple languages available online
Warranty and Service 1-year limited warranty and service included. Optional 2-year Extended Warranty available for U.S. customers sold separately. Use of Kindle is subject to the terms found here
Included in the Box Kindle Paperwhite, USB 2.0 charging cable and Quick Start Guide (Value: $119US)

This draw is 100% sponsored by Turning For Profit  and our other blogs Wearing Woad, and Joybilee Farm.  Amazon is not providing the Kindle Paperwhite for this draw.  Just so you know.  We are doing this because you are the best fans in the world, and if we could give everyone of you a Kindle we would.  But since we can’t — we’ve chosen to give one of you this awesome prize.  You can thank me by sharing, ‘liking’, commenting, and following, to help us grow this awesome community.

I love the Kindle posts and share them with friends, however I’m also interested in reducing energy consumption (or alternatives) and livestock.
